Top 5 Iphone Apps

iphone TOP FIVE FREE IPHONE APPS:

The iPhone 3G has been released for over a month now, and for the enjoyment of iPhone fanatics worldwide, it came concurrent with the release of third party applications.  Here are the favorites for the week:

 

1. Shazam
 Ever hear a song that you just have to find out the title and the artist? With  Shazam, the answer is literally right at your fingertips. Using this application, simply hold the phone to the music and within seconds, you'll know the artist and track name. You can even build your own soundtrack by saving your tag history, buy the track from iTunes, see related videos on YouTube, and
send the music tags to your friends via email.


2. Pandora
The pride of the Music Genome Project is now available as a third party application for the iPhone. It is basically your own personalized radio, streaming music that you control, in high bitrate stereo. In this version, a feature called "Station Resume" comes on when you receive a phone call or switch to another application. Pandora pauses your track then resumes it right where you left of when you come back.

3. Facebook
This iPhone application is one of the most downloaded third party apps out there. It makes it easier to stay connected and share information with your social network. With this app, you can start a conversation using Facebook chat, check your friends' latest photos and status updates, or even upload mobile photos to Facebook on the go. You can write on your friends' walls, view full profiles, and use photo tags.

4. Urbanspoon
Can't decide what to eat? Let Urbanspoon decide for you. Simply shake your iPhone and the Urbanspoon slot machine will make a decision for you. This app uses GPS to find restaurants near your current location. You can filter by cuisine, neighborhood, or price. You can also read ratings and reviews by other users.

5. Wikipanion
Wikipedia is about the best online resource for ANYTHING, whether it be on history, science, arts, or pop culture. Wikipanion is the iPhone version of the premier online reference source. It features easy to read pages, custom-formatted to the iPhone, with fast loading pages and images you can zoom in and out of.  You can even view the table of contents of the current page, change the default font size, page cache the last five pages viewed, and access full mutilingual support available.
